Even with excellent brushing habits, plaque and tartar can build up in hard-to-reach areas. Professional hygiene appointments remove this buildup, reduce your risk of gum disease and decay, and leave your teeth feeling fresh and polished.
Scale & Polish
Our hygienist uses ultrasonic instruments to remove tartar buildup above and below the gum line, then polishes your teeth to remove surface staining. The result is a clean, smooth finish that helps prevent plaque from reattaching.
Airflow Tooth Polishing
For a deeper clean, our Airflow system uses a fine jet of water, air, and powder to gently remove stubborn staining from coffee, tea, red wine, and smoking. It’s faster and more comfortable than traditional polishing.

*Children under the age of 18 get 50% of all dental treatments. In order to qualify, the child’s parent must be registered and have received an examination/treatment at the clinic within 12 months. This discount excludes Orthodontics and Implant dentistry. Our price is fully inclusive of all treatment and aftercare. You will receive a one year guarantee on our work as we trust we deliver high quality service.
We have practice plan that you can benefit from if you like to spread out the cost. We also accept Denplan patients at our practice. We will request a deposit for all treatments. This will be 10% of value of next appointment or minimum £20. If the cancellation is less than 48 hours or you fail to attend your deposit will be forfeited. This is because we will have reserved that appointment for you so someone else might miss out.

How often should I see the hygienist?
We generally recommend every 6 months, but some patients benefit from more frequent visits — especially those with a history of gum disease. We’ll advise on the right schedule for you.
Does a hygiene clean hurt?
Most patients find it comfortable. If you have sensitive teeth or significant tartar buildup, we can use a numbing gel or local anaesthetic for your comfort.
What is Airflow polishing?
Airflow uses a jet of compressed air, water, and fine powder to gently blast away stains and plaque. It’s faster, gentler, and more effective than traditional polishing methods.
Can a hygienist whiten my teeth?
A hygiene clean removes surface staining and can make your teeth appear brighter. For deeper whitening, we offer professional whitening treatments that lighten the underlying tooth colour.
Is a hygiene appointment included in membership plans?
Yes. Our monthly membership plans include two hygiene appointments per year along with examinations and X-rays. Ask our team for details.
